NAS Atlanta, Georgia, was home to VF-672, VF-673 and VMF-351. All three squadrons shared the same air¬craft during the 1960s, with NAVY and MARINE usually painted on the aft section of each aircraft. The first F-8A started to replace the three squadron's AF-1 E Furys in February 1965, Some F-8Cs were acquired in 1966 and some F-8Ls in 1969. In fate 1968 VF-672 and VF-673 were redesignated VF-31B2 and VF-31B3 respectively.
